GEORGE TOWN, July 12 — Police are tracking down a local man in connection with a car vandalism incident involving a metal rod on Jalan Lebuh Pantai here, which was caught on video and has since gone viral on social media.
In a statement today, Northeast District deputy police chief Supt Lee Swee Sake said a 25-year-old man lodged a report at 7.55 pm yesterday.
The incident occurred around 4 pm when the complainant’s vehicle was struck by a Perodua Myvi driven by the suspect.
The man then exited his vehicle, retrieved a metal rod and struck the rear door of the complainant’s car, causing an estimated RM3,000 in damage.
Lee said the suspect has been identified and the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief. — Bernama
