Prudential launches 5-in-1 protection plan for youths

WITH Gen Zs preferring the flexibility of the gig economy and making a living off their passion, Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) launched PRUFirst, the first five-in-one protection plan tailored for youths.

According to a study by Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia, young Malaysians aged 25 to 34 years old are the least prepared for medical emergencies, due to the complexity of obtaining insurance.

That’s why PAMB’s PRUFirst covers five coverage areas in one single plan. This includes medical, accident, life or total permanent disability (TPD) and payor benefits to protect the youths against the financial impact of unexpected life events.

Chief officer, product and actuarial services of PAMB Ankur Bassi said, “Tailored for young adults aged 19 to 30 years old, PRUFirst is a simple yet comprehensive protection plan which is scalable to meet the requirements of today’s generation who seek holistic, straightforward and convenient solutions.”

Priced from RM135 per month, PRUFirst’s annual medical coverage starts at RM1.38 million. This means that Gen Zs will not have to dip into their hard-earned savings or trouble their family financially for any medical treatments.

Additionally, the unique plan gives Gen Zs the flexibility to upgrade and customise their coverage to suit their needs and budget.

They can top up their protection with a medical booster that gives guaranteed increasing annual coverage to manage rising medical costs, while an add-on extensive critical illness rider will help protect their income.

“With customisable options to suit their budget and needs, they can safeguard their savings and lifestyle when faced with unexpected events,” said Bassi.

Should an accident occur, they can receive RM5,000 medical cost reimbursement to cover treatment and equipment expenses.

In the event of an unfortunate death due to an accident, there will be a payout of up to RM100,000.

Meanwhile, in the event the insuree is diagnosed with a critical illness or has TPD, the payor benefit will cover the premiums to ensure continuous protection at no cost.

Chief marketing and partnerships distribution officer of PAMB Eric Wong said, “Whether they are content creators, entrepreneurs or gig workers, Prudential is here to give Gen Zs the freedom and confidence to chase their dream. PRUFirst will carry them through any health emergencies without compromising their way of life.”
