PETALING JAYA, Nov 27 — A colossal python, among the largest ever handled by the Civil Defence Force in Larut Matang Selama, has taken social media by storm after its dramatic capture.
A video of the massive python, dangling dramatically from the ceiling, has since gone viral, sparking awe and alarm online.
As reported by The Star, district civil defence officer Faizulhalimi Mohd Yunus said the snake measured over five metres in length and weighed approximately 80kg.
“The team had to break the ceiling in the living room of the house to allow the snake to come out before capturing it. Although the snake was physically large and long, it was not aggressive; it only wanted to escape,” Faizulhalimi was quoted as saying today.
In its Facebook post on November 22, APM Taiping stated that they received a call for help regarding the snake and at 8.00pm a team of seven was dispatched to Jalan Ayer Puteh, Kampung Dew in Kamunting.
