GE15: Bus tickets sold out, student in Kepala Batas willing to walk home to Kelantan to vote

Kepala Batas: A student from a community college here was willing to walk back to Kelantan to vote when he found out that all bus tickets to his hometown were sold out. He did not want to miss voting for this first this 15th General Election (GE15).

Muhammad Haikal Noor Azmin,18, was ready to set out on foot, bag in tow, when his lecturer found him (Haikal) at Jalan Bertam Indah 2 at about 7 pm yesterday.

Kepala Batas Community College director Jasni Mohd Yusof said the 2D animation certificate student suffers from movement and speech impediment.

“Despite that, he was eager to fulfill his responsibilty as a registered voter. He was willing to walk home.

“When we found him, he was tired. We decided to send him back to his hometown to ensure his safety,” he said when contacted today.

The college send Haikal home using the college’s vehicle.

Haikal said he was moved by the help extended by the college to ensure that he can go home to vote.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Haikal said he was moved by the help extended by the management of his college to ensure that he could return home to vote.
