Haters gonna hate: Trump’s Taylor Swift rant triggers social media frenzy

NEW YORK, Sept 16 — In his signature all-caps style, Donald Trump declared on Truth Social Sunday morning: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” And just like that, the internet went wild, turning “I hate Taylor Swift!” into the catchphrase of the day.

Liz Cheney, the former Republican congresswoman now backing Harris, fired back on X (formerly Twitter) by quoting Trump’s outburst and adding, “Says the smallest man who ever lived,” referencing a track from Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.

One of Swift’s fans delivered a top-notch comeback.

Last week, Swift took to Instagram to announce she’s voting for Democrat Kamala Harris for president. Her Insta Story included a link to the US government’s Vote.gov, and it was a digital avalanche! Over 400,000 people flocked to the site in just one day.

According to Variety, after Swift publicly backed Harris, Trump responded by saying, “I was not a Taylor Swift fan,” and predicted, “she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

Trump’s got to learn to shake it off.
