Katy Perry and Blackpink’s Lisa join star‑studded lineup as Fifa announces trio of opening shows at 2026 World Cup

MEXICO CITY, May 10 — Blackpink member Lisa will perform at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Fifa World Cup in Los Angeles, joining a lineup that includes Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, Rema and Tyla.

Fifa president Gianni Infantino announced the performers through his official account and said the Los Angeles ceremony would highlight the scale of the tournament, according to reports from The Korea Times and AFP.

He said the opening ceremony in “the entertainment capital of the world” would demonstrate “how enormous the 2026 World Cup would be.”

Lisa is also reportedly preparing to release an official World Cup soundtrack with Anitta, Rema and Brazilian group Tropkillaz.

Fifa confirmed that the 2026 tournament will feature three opening ceremonies, with Mexico, Canada and the United States each hosting their own star‑studded show.

Mexico City will open the tournament on June 11 with a performance featuring J Balvin, Mana, Alejandro Fernandez, Belinda, Lila Downs, Tyla and Los Angeles Azules.

Infantino said, “The world will share this moment and that’s how this tournament will begin.”

He added that the ceremonies in Mexico City, Toronto and Los Angeles would “bring together music, culture and football in a way that reflects both the individuality of each nation and the unity that defines this tournament.”

Canada will host its ceremony on June 12 in Toronto with artists including Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez and Nora Fatehi.

The United States will stage its ceremony later the same day in Los Angeles, where Perry, Future, Lisa, Anitta, Rema and Tyla will perform, with more artists to be announced.

Infantino said the Los Angeles lineup reflects “the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas.”

Organisers encouraged early arrival, saying fans will have an active role in the shows.

They said the ceremonies will be linked “across time zones and borders” by “a shared heartbeat.”
