KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 — K-pop entertainment giant HYBE today announced the launch of ABD, a new subsidiary label dedicated exclusively to producing girl groups.
The venture will be creatively led by Sung Soo Han, the renowned producer credited as the mastermind behind superstar acts like SEVENTEEN, IZ*ONE, and TWS.
The label’s first girl group is scheduled to debut in the second half of 2026.
ABD, which stands for “A Bold Dream,” will operate under a creative philosophy of pursuing “unconventional, flexible, and playful ideas that push beyond the norm,” according to the company’s statement.
The new label will be headed by President Jiwon No, who previously served as Head of Artist Planning at PLEDIS Entertainment, the HYBE subsidiary that manages SEVENTEEN.
While No will oversee the label’s overall management and strategic direction, Sung Soo Han will helm the crucial role of Master Professional, shaping the music, concept, and performance of the upcoming group.
The creation of ABD is a strategic move within HYBE’s successful multi-label strategy, which grants creative independence to its various subsidiaries while providing a robust support framework.
With a specific focus on girl group development, the launch strengthens HYBE’s diverse portfolio, which already includes global sensations LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, and ILLIT.
